Halstead Players was re-formed in 1968 as the St.Margaret’s Players, because of our old connection with St.Margaret’s Church.  In fact, the original group was set up by an earlier Rector of the church, Rev. Nowell Wood.
We changed our name to Halstead Players in the early 1990’s and became a fully fledged charity, and have been performing in the village ever since.
From time to time we take part in the parades at Knockholt Carnival to raise money for charity.  We also hold a BBQ for members every year (usually in August) and will be holding regular get-togethers for members at lunchtime on the first Sunday  every month.

Saturday, 9th February
at 2 p.m and 7.30 p.m

We normally put on 2 separate productions each year, and alternate between straight plays (either comedies or something more serious), revues (for which we are famous) and pantomimes.

Our last production was “Hotel Mystere”, a comedy-thriller involving inept hotel staff and a Russian mafioso involved in money laundering.

To see a full list of the Players’ Past Productions, click on the picture above, which will take you to the Past Productions page.

This section contains numerous photo galleries from our previous productions, and includes :

  • Old King Cole (pantomime)
  • Don’t Mention The Euro ! (revue)
  • Pack Up Your Troubles(A commemoration of WW1).
  • Rookery Nook (play)

We would be very pleased to hear from you, particularly if you wish to take a starring role, but also if you wish to help behind the scenes, with such things as the lighting, sound, props and set construction, and (very importantly) helping to advertise the productions.

Go to the Contact Us page, where you will get full details of who to contact and the various ways you can contact us.

At the foot of every page is also a link to the Players’ Facebook page.  Make contact with us via Facebook.
